The first chance that came his way was
from Mahesh, the music director of ‘Nammavar’. The song ‘Sorgam enbathu
namakku’ was a runaway hit and Srinivas’ career was successfully launched.

By then, he had moved to Chennai to chase
his dreams of becoming a playback singer. Then, A.R Rahman started to encourage
this young singer. Srinivas’ career had a rousing start with ‘Oo...la la la’
(Minsara Kanavu and Sapne) and this peppy number had people taking note of the
new singer. With ‘En Uyire’ (in Mani Ratnam’s ‘Uyire’), Srinivas was catapulted
to fame. And since then, there has been no looking back for this talented
singer. His song ‘Minsara Poove’ in ‘Padayappa’ won him the Tamilnadu
Government’s Award for the best Playback Singer.A string of hits for A.R
Rahman, Bharadwaj, Vidyasagar and others followed. He won the Cinema Express
